ManBasics is thrilled to announce the opening of our newest location serving Conroe, Spring, and The Woodlands area. 4130 FM 1488 Suite 106. We are located almost next to Kitchen 1488, just a little east of Saddle River Range (for those who know the area).
ManBasics is the Original Speakeasy Barbershop. There are a million places you can go to that play pop music (loudly) and have ESPN playing on an endless and monotonous loop. Most of the time there isn't even a game on anyway.
At ManBasics we play a kick-ass custom selection of big band and swing music. We also play nothing but classic movies on the TV.
Oh, and did we mention we have a full bar?
Look, we are not going to pretend like we came up with the idea of serving complimentary beverages at our facility. Guys, the truth is "the ladies" had this perfected WAY before any guys did. What do you think your wife is doing when she goes and gets her nails done?

ManBasics doesn't just hire ANYBODY. We pride ourselves in only hiring one out of every 4-5 barbers or stylists that apply to ManBasics.
Simply put, our barbers and stylists are second to none. Seriously, we will put them up against any shop in the industry. They are that good.
When you sit down in our classic barber chair (hopefully with our world famous Whiskey Old Fashioned in hand!), our barber our stylist will begin by consulting on EXACTLY what you want done.
Some patrons bring in photos if they are looking to make a drastic change. Sometimes, all they have to say is "make me look good".
However it happens, our barbers and stylists determine what you want and discuss with you what they are going to do in order to make it happen. No fuss. No surprises.
We get it. Honestly, most people don't know the difference between a barber and a stylist.
Without making it TOO complicated . . . basically, a barber and a stylist are BOTH more than qualified to do a great job of cutting hair (we did mention how selective we are on our hiring practices, right?).
However, a BARBER is able to do some things that a stylist cannot do. Namely, anything to do with a straight razor blade,
Barbers undergo hundreds of extra hours of training in order to become specialists with a straight razor blade. Straight razors are used for straight razor shaves, head shaves, beard trims with a straight razor edge up, or even partial shaves (for clients with a goatee for example . . . part beard trim part shave).
To be sure, there are some other subtle differences . . . but basically, that is it. A stylist will give you a kick-ass haircut at ManBasics. A barber can give you a kick-ass haircut AND give you a kick-ass straight shave or straight razor beard trim edge up. Most barbers start out getting a stylist certification first, and then get their barbers license additionally. Although, those who plan to specialize in men's styling often go straight to getting their barbers license.
